What is your security deposit policy?

A security deposit is required at pickup and will be authorized on your credit card. The amount varies by vehicle type. The deposit is released within 3-7 business days after vehicle return, provided there are no damages or violations.

What if I am running late?

Please contact us immediately if you're running late for pickup. We offer a 30-minute grace period. Beyond that, additional charges may apply. Our customer service team will work with you to accommodate delays when possible.

What are the credit card and debit card policies?

We accept major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express) for both payment and security deposits. Debit cards are accepted for payment but a credit card is required for the security deposit. The card must be in the primary driver's name.

Are additional drivers allowed to drive PaylessBZ vehicles?

Yes, additional drivers are allowed for an extra fee. All additional drivers must meet our age and license requirements, be present at pickup, and provide valid identification. Additional driver fees are charged per day per driver.

Can I pay with a prepaid or debit card?

Prepaid cards are not accepted. Debit cards can be used for payment, but a credit card in the primary driver's name is required for the security deposit. This ensures we can process any additional charges if needed.

Can I rent a car for one-way drop-off?

Yes, one-way rentals are available between select locations in Belize. Additional fees apply for one-way rentals. Please specify your drop-off location when booking to ensure availability and receive accurate pricing.

Will any other fees apply?

Additional fees may include airport pickup/drop-off charges, additional driver fees, underage driver surcharges, one-way rental fees, optional insurance coverage, fuel charges, and cleaning fees if the vehicle is returned excessively dirty.

What is the policy regarding fuel use at PaylessBZ Rentals?

Vehicles are provided with a specific fuel level at pickup, which you should note on your rental agreement. You must return the vehicle with the same fuel level as when you received it. If returned with less fuel, you'll be charged for refueling at current local rates plus a service fee. Keep your fuel receipts for reference.

When will my credit card be charged?

Your credit card will be charged at the time of booking for prepaid reservations, or at pickup for pay-later bookings. The security deposit is authorized (not charged) at pickup and released after successful return of the vehicle.

What if I received a parking ticket?

You are responsible for all parking tickets and traffic violations incurred during your rental period. We will charge your credit card for any fines plus an administrative fee if tickets are received after you return the vehicle.

What happens if I don't return the car on the designated return date?

Late returns incur additional daily charges at the standard rate. If the vehicle is not returned within 24 hours of the agreed time without notification, it may be reported as stolen. Contact us immediately if you need to extend your rental.

What do I need for ID's to rent a car at PaylessBZ?

You need a valid driver's license from your home country (held for at least 2 years), a valid passport, and a major credit card in the primary driver's name. International Driving Permits are recommended for non-English licenses.

Can I drive outside Belize or take the vehicle out of the country?

No, PaylessBZ rental vehicles are not permitted to leave Belize. Taking the vehicle outside the country violates the rental agreement and insurance coverage, and may result in significant penalties and legal consequences.
